TENTH COMMANDMENT: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'

Yet that is exactly what the Environmentalists, with the cooperation of our very own Eureka Township Planning Committee are doing. They are planning to seize control of our property so that they the "Enlightened ones" can better protect it than you yourself can. With wording provided by such entities as the "Sierra Club", they will restrict where and what you may do with your own land.
Read their plan carefully and you will see what evil they have planned for you. Can you believe that it is your friends and neighbors doing this to you. Your fellow church goers even!

A violation of Civil Rights?

A while back a close friend of mine suffered a tragedy. Late at night his wife, who had been ill, was suddenly dying. He called 911 and was then doing CPR on her until help arrived. The first responders there were two Dakota County Deputy's.

When the Rescue Unit people got there one Deputy took him aside and began questioning him, while his wife lay dying, while the other deputy searched his house and upon finding guns copied down all the information and the serial numbers of each one.

Well, first of all it seems to me an invasion of privacy at a very bad time. I am a solid law and order advocate and will almost always back up law enforcement, but not in this case. How dare they take advantage of a man's tragedy? I feel it is an infringement of the First and Second Amendment at the very least.

Is this the Department's policy? If so it should not be. This man had absolutely no criminal record of any kind. He was and is a well liked and respected member of that community and certainly should have been above suspicion. There was no evidence that any crime has been committed.

I have experienced some very arrogant behavior by Deputies manning the screening station at the Court House in Hastings as well, and wonder if it is Departmental Policy to abuse peoples rights and dignity, or if just some members of the force do this on their own. At any rate a little Public Relations Training is certainly in order.

DO NOT let Deputies into your home unless you have no other choice. Once in the door they will take advantage and search your belongings. If they wish to search your premises make them get a warrant!

Planning Committee Open Meeting:

And a good time was had by all. Well, maybe not everyone. The Open Meeting last night, April 28, was very well attended. The Moderators worked very hard in an effort to &quot;Spin&quot; the words they have put into the Comprehensive Plan and were not being well received. I think that their attitude was that we country bumpkins wouldn't be intelligent enough to see through them, but they seemed to be wrong judging from the responses. <br /><br />The only support they received were from some &quot;Green Weenies&quot; and &quot;Green Witches&quot; who were in attendance but vastly outnumbered. <br /><br />The Chub Lake Shoreland Assn. had met previously with the Committee and were casually brushed off by the Moderators from TDK. We were given lip service. I think that TDK was hired and came to our Township with a &quot;Green Agenda&quot; already in place. They seem to have the Met Council's positions memorized and can recite it at a moments notice. <br /><br /><strong>I call for the Township Board to fire TDK and if they must have Moderators, at least hire some who have not already picked a side. </strong><br /><br />I have been told by Committee members that wording that they objected to in the plan, and had removed at one meeting was mysteriously back in place by the next meeting. Observations have been made that lots of items are being discussed away from public scrutiny as well. Comments like, &quot;Well, we know how that has to be worded don't we.&quot;<br /><br />Don't be fooled by these people. If you turn your back the Greenies will stick their plans to you. When the Chub Lake people met with them, we were largely ignored with smug grins of appeasement. You got their attention last night and you need to keep the heat on them. <br /><br />Well Done!<br />

Eureka Township 2030 Comprehensive Plan Planning committee meeting April 8, 2008 7 PM

Topic: Land Use Purpose: Provide feedback on the draft Land Use chapter Plan for open house Committee

 Members in Attendance: Sharon Buckley, Mike Greco, Kenny Miller, Ken Olstad, Jeff Otto, Nancy Sauber, Berry Farrington - TKDA

Review Draft Land Use Chapter - Residential section
The group identified changes to the existing land use map. Clarifications and changes were discussed for the section on density and regional forecasts. The goals for the transfer of housing rights program were reviewed, with a focus on options for natural resource protection in looking at if there should be a receiving zone for the transferred housing rights. Generally, three options were discussed:
1. performance standards for resource protection that are not location specific;
2. map a receiving zone into which housing rights could be transferred;
3. use the mapped natural resource areas and create protection measures for development proposed in those areas.

The group also discussed Open Space Design as a method for protecting resources yet allowing development. The outcome of the discussion was to use the natural resource corridor map as the basis for an overlay that would combine incentives and restrictions. Parcels in the overlay would still be eligible to receive housing rights, but measures would be in place to prevent harm to the high quality natural resources identified by the MN Biological survey.

TKDA will draft changes for the committee to review at the May meeting.

Based on audience comment, the goal regarding respecting landowners’ rights was changed to specify that community interests are health, safety, welfare.
There were no audience comments to this effect.

Review Draft Land Use Chapter - Commercial-Industrial section The group discussed reasons why future study for any changes to commercial-industrial land uses is needed. The option of a floating zone was discussed and it was decided to identify it as an option with the future study, and that a floating zone will not be suggested as an interim measure before the study was completed.
The draft plan will be revised to give more direction of the study, and to fully include the recommendations of the 2003 commercial-industrial task force report. The Land Use policies were updated to reflect the discussion. Plan for Community Open House The Open House is set for April 28, 6 - 8 PM. The group discussed and recommended changes to the presentation, comment form, and materials to be shown at the open house. Revised Draft Natural and Agricultural Resources Chapter There was not time left to review the revisions made based on the committee’s comments from the previous meeting. Copies were passed out to the group and the revised draft will be posted to the website.

The Open House is April 28. The next committee meeting is May 13.

Cuba announced yesterday that citizens may now buy the property that they live on, farm on, or do business on. Of course none of the citizens can afford to buy this land. They're too poor. A great experiment in Socialism.

I find it ironic however, that the Socialist Countries, (Cuba, Soviet Block, and so on), are now reversing their policies on Property Rights. Is it possible that they have learned something from their terrible experiment that cost millions of lives world wide? Did it work out that when people can't own or have control of their property, that they do not care for it?

Another Irony I see are all these Environmentalists who are quietly working to limit my, and your Property Rights. They of course proudly proclaim that its (For Mother Earth), or (Preserving for our Children), or some other nonsensical mantra. Don't be fooled by them. It's nothing but ego.

They are what one popular radio host calls "Euphorians". A Euphorian is someone who experiences feelings of giddiness while happily taking their neighbors money through taxation, and then distributing it to the teaming masses. It makes them feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

The question in Eureka Township at the present time, is an effort by a small group of people to quietly place restrictions on property rights. Restrictions which would severely limit the property owners ability to utilize their own land. Jefferson and Adams are turning in their graves.

So, are we as a Township going to let a small group of Socialists take away our Property Rights? Well, let me put it another way. Socialists take your money and businesses while Communists take your land as well. Make your own decision.

The Planning
Committee met again on Tuesday, April 8. From statements uttered by
several members the public input they wanted is mostly ignored. Ms.
Berry Farrington came back with her plan with all of our objections
overlooked. They evidently have no intention of listening to the public
or respecting our rights. Now is the time to start building a voting
block to eliminate these Liberal Idealogues from our governing bodies.
